The MDA has developed a pro-active strategy to attracting tenants to the Business Park and to developing an integrated campus approach which has led to the creation of the greatest number of new jobs created in Co. Laois in the 1990s.
The MDA uses a multi-faceted approach which involves the following:
Marketing available enterprise space to local, national and international clients.
Working with potential clients in sourcing grant aid for projects through our enterprise support services, which were established during the 96 - 99 ADM funded local development programme.
Working with existing clients in the Business Park and in the Mountmellick area to help them maintain their existing business and where possible to facilitate growth and expansion through our enterprise support services.
Providing enterprise space at a reasonable rate to facilitate non commercial activities such as sheltered work for people with disabilities or the arts. eg. The Mill Enterprises.
Providing services through the citizens information centre, the computer training facility and the community childcare centre.
Identifying supports to assist the existing businesses and to encourage new businesses to locate in the business park such as modern well equipped meeting and training rooms, the use of office facilities, childcare facilities and the restaurant.
