Name: MDA location: Mountmellick		Hi Fran, Christopher's father Edward owned Conroy's Distillery along with John Conroy which was located at the site of the present day Catholic Church (St Josephs). This was the only significant distillery known to have existed in the town at the time. At it's peak 1831 - 1838 they were producing 120,000 gallons of Whiskey annually. By the 1840's distilling was in decline due to the sucess of the temperance movement, Fammine and taxes. Conroy's appears to have closed down between 1845 and 1850. Parents were Edward Conroy and Sarah Deegan, and Edward's parents were Peter conroy and Catherine Brenigan. Also interested in what happened to Christopher's brother James who was baptized June 25, 1954 and Mary baptized July 23, 1848, and another Mary baptized March 21, 1852. Christopher and Thomas moved to Pennsylvania in the late 1800s.
