It is funded by Area Development Managment (ADM) under the National Development Plan.
Our social inclusion programme is the human touch of MDA activities. This programme is administered by ADM under the National Development Plan and caters for all aspects of community life. We provide a range of services to people of the town who may not be able to access them elsewhere under three measures: services to the unemployed, community development support and community based initiatives for young people.
Under services to the unemployed, we offer advice on a broad range of employment services including setting up your own business, assistance with job applications and personal development courses. The employment resource centre offers a wide range of information for those seeking employment and we have secured grant aid for third level students, for pre employment programmes and for other training and employment programmes.
Under the community development support, the community development officer assists community groups by offering them advise and guidance, keeping them in touch with community developments at county and national level and supporting them in sourcing grant aid.
The youth initiatives enhance the social and personal development of members of Mountmellick Youth Development Centre and provide a broad range of other supports to the young people in Mountmellick
Our computer room offers a broad range of computer courses and services to the general public
MDASI is pleased to be in a position to provide these facilities and welcomes people to seek information and guidance from us. We point the way forward as being through the development of our community and we strive towards this goal.
